Okay, I think this shit is all squared away. This blog now resides at brutejonny.com! Please update your bookmarks and RSS feeds!!
I’ll never tell which brand they are, cos it could potentially be embarrassing. I would’ve designed the soles differently, but I still like em. I found them in a bargain shoe store in SF that was going out of business.
21 bucks.

I think this album is about a year old now? Been thrashing it lately anyway.
Yeah, I’m a fan of a dressed-down dressy shoe. I blogged about the American Apparel Hartwick Skimmer Shoe earlier in the year, but have yet to see a pair in the flesh. I still stand by them ‘cos I think they’d look even better all scuffed up. They’re maybe not quite as top notch as the Göthberg shoe by Whyred, but they are a hell of a lot cheaper. $97 vs $480. I still prefer to dig through bargain bins at discount shoe stores. Of course you can always find a similar pair of shoes at the local Goodwill if you aren’t scared of tinea.
This one’s by Fred Perry who tends to pretty consistently make nice bags. I saw a lot more of this type of stuff in SF (not just on the shelves at Urban Outfitters) than I do here in Portland. I don’t have the bones or the need for this bag, but I still want it.
I was browsing Urban Outfitters online in a desperate attempt at not looking at website code anymore and saw this cool D Collection duffle bag. It looks like my sleeping bag I took to summer camp in ’94. These posts probably make my blog look all spammy, but I don’t care.
Faesthetic is an art magazine I’ve been featured in before. It’s curated by Dustin Amery Hostetler (aka Upso) Issue #11 is out now.
From their blog:
Faesthetic issue #11 showcases 128 pages of “Ghost Stories” themed art from over 40 artists. Featuring high quality 2 color offset printing, original cover art by think.faest favorite Maxwell Loren Holyoke-Hirsch, and an interview & contributions by Shepard Fairey’s Studio Number One.
New Format & New Price! To make Faesthetic as affordable and accessible as possible, we’ve trimmed 2″ off the cover size and $2 off the cover price. Faesthetic #11 is only $8 + S&H! We’ve also reduced all available back issues to only $8 so you can complete your collections…
Photographer Jeffrey Graetsch shot Ash Stymest and Eliza Pressly for Anthem #38 resulting in one of my favorite sets of photographs in quite some time. Androgyny at its best. See the rest of the images after the jump.
Hi guys, I’m merging the Hello, Brute and Brute Jonny blogs to the same database. They will still be separate, but now nothing will go unposted. Hello, Brute will have more in progress info so you guys can stay up to speed. Love you all! Wish me luck!!
