The first edition of my latest toy Bobby is finished and is on his way to Rotofugi. This variant is a Rotofugi exclusive and will only be available there. He will be available in their shop shortly. I’ll send out the newsletter once I know when he’s for sale.
I have been watching this video non-stop and being really annoying about quoting it all the time. I think it aired last year, but it’s been making me laugh for months. Kristen Wiig delivers like Dominos.
What the fuck was that runway finale? Did bad art school become ironic again? Did I miss the boat again? Have I been on this boat the whole time? Are 13 year old girls all over America gonna have pie in the sky dreams of dumborexic oil-writhing edgyness? Am I? Will smiling with my eyes and giving lots of neck help me in a situation like this? When in doubt, grab that weave, and swirl and twirl. You’ll always have pictures like this to back you up and cut people with your couture work-it-bitch fierceness.
I did some maintenance work on my newsletter form which, unbeknownst to me, hasn’t been working for a short while. So if you had problems signing up before, give it one more go : ) There is also a newsletter for my new toy endeavor, Gruff House.
So I’m on a new adventure with handmade toys. I’m starting a website that will be a retail outlet for handmade artist-produced toys. We’ll also have resources for people interested in making their own toys or finding out more information on their favorite toy artists, as well as a blog to keep folks up to date. We are currently looking for people that are interested in selling their toys in the shop. They must be handmade, and you must own all of the rights to the artwork (this also excludes custom Munny’s, Qee’s, etc.). If you’re interested, please e-mail us at mail@gruffhouse.com or check out the website: Gruffhouse.com. (We are not accepting plush or soft toys at this time, sorry!) We’re aiming to launch in the beginning of July 2009. You can sign up for our mailing list on the site if you want regular updates in your e-mail box about additions to the shop.
Hi, I'm Jon Knox.
I live in Portland. I make toys and clothes for a living, and I have a mutt named Robbie. This blog is a combo of my artwork and other random things that inspire me. Think of it as a moodboard in blog format.
