Arbito - Seeker

Gorgeously perfect resin figures from Arbito. Combo of glow in the dark and clear resins, and not to mention flawless airbrush work. So bummed I don’t have the money to buy toys lately!

I finished my custom Billy for the show held by Blamo Toys at Million Fishes Gallery in San Francisco. This guy is all wood, except for his glasses which are hand cast resin. He’ll be available for purchase at the show and also at DCon in Pasadena. Check the flyer images below for more info!

New Mini in the Works

| October 25th, 2009

New Mini

Here is a little somethin that’s been in the works for several weeks. This is just a rough prototype, but I think this guy will be the next Brute platform figure to be released. I’m gonna make a few refinements then re-cast him next month. He’s around 5″ tall, so he will be another “mini” (compared to the other sculpts, at least). Fingers crossed that everything goes well.

My Little Arpie v.2

Release date:
Wednesday Oct 14th (@ 3:00pm pacific) – Friday Oct 16th (@ 11:59pm pacific)

By popular demand, My Little Arpie is back for one final round! He hasn’t been available to the public in over a year. There are only a few available of the clear version. The opaque version will be up for pre-sales for a maximum 3 days. They will be made to order, and you can pick your color from the options in the shop. This is the last mold I will make of this sculpt of the Arpie. So once my mold breaks, he will no longer be available. First come, first served (Though e-cheques fall to the bottom of the list, sorry!)

Because these are made to order, please allow at least 3 weeks for your toy to be made. I finish them as quickly as possible, but the process is time-consuming, so please be patient.

Jon Knox

My Little Arpie Round 2

My Little Arpie Round 2

My Little Arpie is back after more than a year in hiding. He will be the next release in the shop. There will be at least 2 color variants – clear and pink. I may do one more color for good measure. He might be here as soon as the end of the week, maybe next week. Be sure to sign up for the mailing list if you want proper notification of the release!

New Toys / Works in Progress

| October 3rd, 2009

WiP

One of my major reasons for updating hellobrute.com was so that I could show some more in-progress documentation of the work I do. Because just about everything is done from start to finish in my Portland studio, I have the liberty of sharing progress along the way. I’m working on a bunch of new things and thought I would share a couple of images.

The sculpt on the left is one of the first pieces of my upcoming peg-jointed figures. If you scroll down a couple posts, you can see the accompanying head. These figures are going to stand around 10 inches tall which will make them bigger than Danny and Brute who are around 9 inches tall. I really love large figures, and I’m excited to push forward with larger pieces.

The figure on the right is the base for a new miniature(ish) figure. I’ve had a lot of requests for more of Kristopher (my last 6″ resin figure), so I am working on making some similar characters that are about the same size. This little guy is around 5″ tall. I’m doing my best to have some toys that are more affordable to the average collector, as well as trying to keep some things in stock in the store.

These are both clay sculpts and I haven’t made the molds yet, so anything could happen. Cross your fingers that everything goes well and both of these guys can see the light of day!

Danny Progress Update

Danny Progress Update

| September 17th, 2009

Since I’m further behind schedule than I anticipated on these, I think it’s only fair to keep everyone updated and assured that I’ve been constantly working on Danny version 2. As you can see, they’re very near completion. I promise I’m working hard!

Danny v2 progress

| September 3rd, 2009

Hi folks, just wanted to let those of you who ordered Danny v2 (via the mailing list) know that they are still in the works. I’m working on them every day, but making toys takes time and I wanna be sure that the same amount of love goes into each one. I’m expecting to finish early next week and then have them in the mail shortly after. While things are drying, I’ve been working on a new version of the Hello, Brute website, as well as making new molds for new toys. More details and photos of new stuff to follow quite soon, so be sure to check back. <3
