I must sound like a broken record to those of you that are gracious enough to follow me in more than one place, but THE SUMMER 2009 LINE is fiiiiiiiiiiiinally here. These tops, bags, etc have been in the works for so long and I am so glad to finally release them. Everything is hand printed (by me and a very special assistant) and the tee’s are American Apparel. Pop over to the shop and have a look. I also gave the shop a facelift now that there are more items in it. It is okay to laugh at all my poses and stuff, it is all in good fun. I am no top model, but Cole Mohr and Agyness Deyn said they were too busy this time. Nevertheless, I hope you enjoy the new stuff as much as I did making it. Now that all my printing is in-house, there is much more to come. Thanks again to everyone for all the support!
What the fuck was that runway finale? Did bad art school become ironic again? Did I miss the boat again? Have I been on this boat the whole time? Are 13 year old girls all over America gonna have pie in the sky dreams of dumborexic oil-writhing edgyness? Am I? Will smiling with my eyes and giving lots of neck help me in a situation like this? When in doubt, grab that weave, and swirl and twirl. You’ll always have pictures like this to back you up and cut people with your couture work-it-bitch fierceness.
This is the kinda thing I dig that I think most people won’t get. The more I look at the collection, the more I like it. And I definitely need that onesie. I’m even starting to like the ridinkydonk Karen O hair.
This is the first pull of the first design I’m printing for my Summer ’09 clothing line! It’s printed on one of my older shirts. These will be printed on American Apparel tee’s with super duper soft water-based inks. Top quality from now on! Gonna make a black on white version as well. Keep your eyes peeled for more teasers!
Oliver Hibert designed a new tee for the Beautiful Decayclothing line. There isn’t a thing he’s made that I haven’t fallen in love with. His color choices and line work are as close to perfection as it gets, but you can tell it’s had the care of human hands. Jealous!!!!! Buy the shirt here.
Human Empire are a Humburg-based design studio who make illustrations that really get me goin’. They have a lot of awesome tee’s for sale at A Number of Small Things.
Hi, I'm Jon Knox.
I live in Portland. I make toys and clothes for a living, and I have a mutt named Robbie. This blog is a combo of my artwork and other random things that inspire me. Think of it as a moodboard in blog format.
